Some people say a picture is worth a thousand words. While that may be true, for this project I decided to take the opposite approach and perceive photos as capturing and solidifying a single moment. By pairing my photos with my words, I wanted to create an essence of one, solitary moment. Many pieces are relatively short; every word counts.

I appreciate the way photography allows an individual to abstract innumerable stories and ideas from a single photo. I was hesitant to draw a clear association with something that has such potential. I'm hoping this won't limit the perceptions of the viewer but instead simply illustrate one of the many possible approaches to an image.
